Bah, hambug!
Believe it or not, I woke up feeling pretty full of "Christmas cheer" this morning. Then I got out of bed and realised I have to get to work. Yes, I'm one of very few individuals who are at work today. In fact, our office, out of eight others, is the only occupied one. But at least being here is keeping out of trouble and a little entertained. I wore this funky hat I stole off Beskarig to work, and these girls I almost ran over earlier thought it was pretty funky as well. I thought they were funky myself.
By and large, I hardly noticed this whole Christmas effort this year. Apart from my neighbours (yes, them again!), who must have bought a jukebox or something. But every hour on the hour, a carol starts blaring out from next door. And this goes on until the wee hours of the morning. Bah, hambug. As long as they don't moan if I decide to host a New Years Eve party, then we even.
I'm spending Christmas Day with my aunt, which makes me glad I didn't go home. It's not nice spending Christmas on your own. Besides, the only thing I ever enjoyed about Christmas day at home was waking up to Dexter's Lab on Cartoon Network, and maybe catch some Cow and Chicken as well. The other channels are full of re-runs, whether it's the movie channels or the sport channels.
After that, it was lunch with the parentals, God forbid going out somewhere for chow. It was a nightmare. My pops taking forever to order something, then when he gets his food, he spends twenty minutes chatting on the phone, then complains to the waitress/manager/anyone-else-willing-to-listen the food is too cold. Then we would go home to watch some dumb-ass Christmas movie on M-Net.
Thursday holds much promise. As does next year. I have finally found not one, but two, willing partners to do Namibia with me next year. Caz and Beskarig are as amped as I am, and The Gays may be keen as well. There's a lot lined up for next year, but that'll come later.
A final word of notice for the pedestrians at Access Park. The road is for cars, sidewalk for pedestrians. I'm losing my disinclination to run the lot of you over (except the lovely ladies from this morning). Now that I have a little taste of being in the papers, the front pages and 6 o'clock news is next on my radar. "Enraged Scrooge Runs Over Xmas Shoppers!" That wouldn't sound too bad. If you hear me hoot, it's too late! Bah, hambug!
On a final note, there's something strange happening to me. Not in the sense that something is falling off or sagging, but I'm starting to really like a girl. Not in the sense I was into boys before, but as in, a certain girl. She's proving herself to be a bit crazy, which I think is the attraction. I've known her for a while, but I haven't felt anything for her until recently. We'll see how this develops.
Merry Christmas, Mofos!
